Welcome to Let’s Talk Knowledge! My name is Ken Sickles. I’ve been described as a business savvy techno geek. I’m not sure if I am supposed to take that as a compliment or not, but I do. I have a passion for technology that started around age 6 (thank you Atari 2600) and has only grown stronger since. But my passion for technology has really never been limited to technology for technologies sake. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my gadgets and gaming systems, but I get really excited when technology is solving real problems.

In fact I’ve dedicated my entire 15+ year career to how technology, when combined in just the right manner with information, can create smarter businesses. Back in 1995 I started my own little technology company, and my first brochure (which was just plain ugly) touted that we “Help turn data into intelligence that is accurate, timely, and accessible”. Since then I have worked for a series of companies with products and services focused on helping business realize that very statement.

I’m currently in the role of Director of “Solutions Strategy” for the Researcher and Knowledge Worker segment of Dow Jones. I have the good fortune to work with customers and colleagues everyday, each with there own unique insight and experience in transforming information into intelligence. I started this blog as a place to share stories, successes, and failures with others. I’m hoping people somehow stumble across this little patch of cyberspace, and contribute to the conversation. And with any luck, I’ll even convince my colleagues and peers to write a post now and then.

Enjoy!
